Hey guys, I was going to buy an ATA/100 Western Digital Hard Drive. My MB, which is a MSI KT333 Ultra 2, has Raid 0 and Raid 1. If I plug my Hard Drive cable into a Raid outlet on the MB, will it raise my hard drive to ATA/133. Is that what Raid does, or am I totally wrong. Please tell me if I can switch from ATA/100 to ATA/133 if I plug the Hard Drive into my Raid outlet on the Motherboard.

yhe answer is no raid will not make a ata100 drive into an ata 133 drive

ata 100 vs ata 133 is minimal if any difference in speed but does increase the size limitations of the drives.

raid 0 is basicly tying two harddrives into one much like adding a second engine to a car but at the risk of loss of data if either one fails
raid 1 is like above but only one engine working and the other recording then if one fails you still have the info and os intact

hope this helps
