ok, here's the lowdown...
I have an old gateway performance 500 with a Intel 440BX chipset, and old PII/PIII motherboard.:disgust:
anyhow... I would like to upgrade both my mother board, and the chip; however I?ve been running into problems with the motherboard fitting properly and the PCI, AGP, USB, etc. lining up. does anyone know of a good motherboard that supports at least a 1GB Mhz chip, that would fit into a gateway mini tower case?
Thanks!

Ohhh...I had this same problem at my second job. It came down to paying for Gateway's special board, or ditching the case. We ditched the case :)

Don't know if they would be able to help, but check here. The guy deals in Gateway after-market and hard-to-find parts, if you email he might have some suggestions.

If your system uses a micro ATX mainboard you have some possibilities. If you can use this formfactor, I'd recommend a KT133a mainboard to inexpensively meet your requirements.
