Hello,

I have asked this question at another forum but people either got pissed off or could give me really any good advice, So sorry in advance if anything I ask offends you. Thanks for any help.

I'm looking for a stable MB that uses either 650I chipset or the 680I chipset.

My question is which LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce MB are good price wise and feature wise, Also what the difference in the two chipset if any at all, I read some reviews say the 650I run better then 680I and faster.

Any advice MB would be helpful.

And again thanks in advance for any help.

The answer depends on what you are wanting from the motherboard.

Are you going to run SLI?

Are you going to overclock?

If not I wouldn't consider the 680i. The main reason to get one is that it has enough pci-e lanes to handle the new dx10 cards in SLI. . Besides it's overclocking capabilities.

There are many factors when choosing hardware for a new computer. You need to figure out the budget and features that you will need like RAID etc.

If budget isn't an issue and it is a toss up I would say just get a 680i. . it will have higher grade components and features that the 650 doesn't have. Also even if you aren't planning to use SLI now you can throw in another card to boost performance down the road if your system starts to show it's age.

I think you need to do some more research though, you need to know what you want from your computer before you build it.

Wish I could be more help but I don't really know what you plan on doing, I would say read a bunch of reviews and price everything out and ask here again if you have more questions.

I'm going ti run SLI and overclock it I don't need raid I never use raid on this kind of machine I have a quad system I will build for a raid setup, Money is not really a issue but a stable MB is. or would crossfire be better?

Then figure out which of the dual core 2 are best to get each person I asked says ether e6600 or 4600 or E4300 but which would be best relly for over clocking I don't need firewire cause i don't use it.
