MOtherboard ABIT BE6-II

Hi,
I used ABIT BE6-II motherboard for my computer. The thing is I have just add my memory from 128 MB SDRAM to Kingston 256 MB SDRAM (high speed). But unfortunately, my sistem only detect the new memory as 128 MB. What's wrong with it? Some said my system is old and is not compatible to the new (high speed) memory. Is it true?
Some said I need to upgrade my BIOS. SO i did. But afterwards, I was only able to boot up and enter WINDOWS system in SAFE MODE. What happened? What should I do next?

hmm...what do you mean "high speed" memory? cas2 vs. cas2.5? pc100 vs. pc133? i don't think it would make any difference as far as compatibility goes, as long as it's sdram. i had this motherboard before, and it worked with any sdram, cas2 or 2.5. of course if it is pc133, it'll only run at 100mhz, since that's what your chipset will support. if you can only boot up to windows in safe mode now, try flashing back to the old bios to see if you can get into windows normally. try different memory slots to see if that may work. also, double check on the memory stick itself that it's 256mb as stated. good luck.
