that guy has got to hate his life now. His youngest daughter died in a fire in 2000, then he comes home and his wife says "surprise honey, i stabbed our kids to death"

Who knows - he probably wasn't a model husband himself. By way of illustration, I really felt the father of the children killed by Andrea Yates in Texas was largely responsible for the murders; his wife had a history of VERY severe postpartum depression, yet he insisted on having 5 kids, and having her home-school them.

What I wonder is whether this woman in Chicago set the fire that killed her daughter in 2000.

And there will be a % of the population who says that it is not her fault. It is societies fault. That she should not be executed. She should be coddled and rehabilitated. Her life is valuable, they will say. She should be given all the freebies that the medical/psycological community can provide... at taxpayers expense... so she can, one day become a productive member of society.

puke. she needs to be put down. no hesitation, no circus atmosphere. Quickly, quietly and without any fanfare.

You know, I think your anger and righteous indignance is misplaced here, and it pisses me off to no end.

Nobody is claiming society caused this; more than likely these killings were caused by a severe, florid, undiagnosed and untreated mental illness. There would simply be no point in encumbering the taxpayers with the MUCH higher cost of giving her the death penalty, as opposed to imprisoning her for life (which is what'll happen). This woman is almost certainly out of her mind; that doesn't make her evil.

it is not rightous indignance... some ppl just dont need to be on the planet. To be honest... I dont care if she is fruity as Tucan Sam or evil as Stalin. She needs to be put down. And if it is more expensive to keep ppl alive due to endless appeals, then imo, there should be certain cases where there is not 15yrs of appeals. This case is one of them.

We dont take a rabid dog and put him in a cage for the rest of his life... studying him and saying ohhh poor doggie. We put them down.

Now, you and I are gonna hafta agree to disagree here.. cause I do not think that we will ever see eye to eye on it. I think that in cases such as this... and undeniable DNA proof of repeat violent offenders.. there needs to be a whole different ball game on the death penalty. This will never happen, I know... our Constitution forbids it.

No fighting now, we will have to agree to disagree.
