Mother in law recently past away, but they forgot something before the cremation...

My mother in law recently past (55yrs old 🙁) and she wished to be cremated which was done.
However, the BRILLIANT hospital and funeral home seemed to forget to remove her wedding rigns before they cremated her. I can't beleive it.

My wife tried to get the rings off her while she laid in her hospital bed after she passed, but it grossed her out too much and obviously wasn't in the mood. Nurses said "no problem we'll get them"... pathologist didn't do it, funeral home didn't do it....

so now I guess there should be a lump of gold and a few diamonds in her urn? Unbelivable.

$5 says that someoen pocketed them at the crematory...

I'd sooo get the kitty pooper scooper and find them :|

there is no way that would happen. when she was taken to the funeral home they would have removed all personal affects until after they prepared the body. IMO, someone at the funeral home stole them.

First thing I thought also.

most likely

Man that would piss me off. Almost to the point where I'd probably sift through the ashes just to try to find the diamond. If it wasn't in there, there would be HELL to pay.

🙁

check your contract with the FH.....it may address the liability for personal affects and you may be reimbursed. I know it will never make up for the sentimental value, but they shouldn't be allowed to get off scott free.

id call the local news, start an investigation.

maybe there were other families that had this BS happen to them from the same place.

That is so sad. I cannot imagine how your wife is feeling.

I am so sorry, but that is just awful.

Check around the back of the place too to see if they actually cremated her. Remember that one guy in Georgia who was just stacking them in the back and saying they were cremated.

I don't know that his comment was meant in a rude manner. Maybe in poor taste, but the funeral home in GA was guilty of doing just that.

I thought it was common practice to take of your rings in the hospital so they don't get stolen while one is there.

I'm sorry, I meant no disrespect to the deceased. It was more of a comment on how shady some funeral home operators seem to be, because that actually did happen.

My condolences for your loss and your current issue.
