Mother in law got T-Boned in an intersection this morning

wow that's quite a dent there...I hope she's okay, that must've been horrible. I remember my big crash a few years ago, got rear-ended by a car hitting the car behind me...that was freaky enough as it was, even knowing I had a buffer car.

Har far did the car slide? Must've been a long way. 60 still sounds high though. Apparently there are ways that they can tell by examining the skid marks and other things. You could probably sue.

Wow what a terrible accident. She's very lucky she didn't get struck from the other side

Wow, hopefully she's okay. Looks like the passenger side got the brunt of it all. Hopefully the fvcker who hit her was insured.

Where the hell do they put four way intersections that have 60MPH speed limits?

BTW, that car doesn't have any frame, and it shows!

They are everywhere around here.

An intersection with that many lanes would not have a speed limit of 60, maybe 45 or 50. Plus, I assume most of the time traffic would be queued up in some of the lanes, slowing things down. I bet he saw an yellow light, though he could make it, and sped up. There ought to be a nice lawsuit out of this. I hate lawsuits in general, but come on, he could have killed a passenger in that car. Just so he could cut 30 seconds off of his drive.

Try 316 in GA. Intersections w/ and w/o red lights every few miles or so, speed limit is 70 though most people drive about 80. They've had so many accidents they are discussing making it a toll road and putting bridges at all the intersections. My uncle and his family were going down it one night doing about 70 in their ML500. Somebody ran through through one of the intersects and clipped them going about 45. Flipped their car 4 times. He was throw from the vehicle but he's doing ok now. At the time he had a few broken vertebrae. Everyone else was ok for the most part but one of my cousins broke his arm and leg. Scary stuff though. 🙁

Btw- Glad she's ok. 😀

the speed limit at the intersection is 55 in the direction the truck was going and 45 the other direction. The intersection is that of a state highway and a state highway bypass, they are all 55mph here in KY

The passenger might have survived - but with injuries from the waist down. Good luck there was no passenger. And the car held up good, considering the car that impacted it.
Hope your mother in law would be fine, and she will get a new car from that

the old protege held up pretty good to a big dodge ram hitting it in the passenger side front fender/door at about 60mph

Glad she is OK, certainly would be a different story had been the driver side.

Glad he is OK too. Don't miss those fved up Georgia roads at all.

Nothing but corrupt tards at the DOT there.

Now if she had a passenger would he/she survive an side impact of that magnitude?

From the looks of it... Nope.

Was the guy drunk or just speeding or what? Now she has to go get a new car and everything. Best wishes and hope for a speedy recovery.

Pretty sure he was late for work and speeding. He was able to drive his truck away, those things are meant to just ram into stuff and keep going I guess
