mother and 2 year old kid killed at the train tracks in my town last night

coming home last night from a after hours install i roll up upon the scene. its never good when you see the ambulance sitting there with all its lights off. I dont know who she was but ill find out today from the neighbors. if you guys remember summer about this time a 11 year old girl was killed when a southbound train was stopped to allow a northbound train to pass. she got impatient and went between two cars of the stopped train just as she did the northbound train nailed her. My town has only one road through it and those tracks are very very very busy with coal trains coming to an from Wyoming.

From past conversations that i have had with the town manager, the Amtrack trains go through town at 79mph. im pretty sure the coal trains are close to that speed.

They got killed trying to beat an Amtrak train?? WTF is the point - they are pretty short, and if moving at 79 MPH as you say, it'd be past in seconds.

My uncle died (before I was born) by driving into a train that was already crossing the tracks. He was drunk, of course, in the middle of the night. Good job, man.
