I start this petty contest with a modest $275. 10 of us went to a japanese place a few months ago and ended up paying this.

Please split this into two groups: with alcohol and without alcohol (such as the above)

Without alcohol, 135. 2 guys, 8 girls. It was some Italian place and I wasn't hungry, so I ended up only getting a drink and snacking on the free bread. Didn't pay a single penny.

Not that I'm well off or anything like that, but I've spent that much on dinner and alcohol between two people Martin. :)

Paid for myself? No more than $200.

I've been out on the company tab to the tune of $8,000 meals though, with about 15 middle management types and a dept. head.

$400+ for 4 on a friend's b-day (I paid about half).
$400+ for 4 during a "going away" party (I didn't pay :D).
$150 for 4 at a japanese place.

The highest bartabs have all been $500-700, easy.

without alcohol

of course, this is in high school

a bunch of us just HAPPENED to be in san francisoco all at the same time . . . some were looking at UC Berkeley, others were there for the holiday weekend, others were there for a wedding

we decided to go to a club-like restaurant (not a club, because it was actually a restaurant with a bar on the other side

all virgin drinks, some desserts, our group racked up about $300

i think there were 8 of us; thank god one of them was a rich man

very expensive drinks and cake, but very damn good

EDIT: I JUST realized as i was clicking "reply"

it was someone's birthday, so we ordered a HUGE CAKE

so huge, that we didn't even eat a 1/3 of it or something

the cake took up a lot of the total

EDIT2: i think we also ate dinner there; or at least some of us did

that also added to the total

EDIT3: just im'ed my friend

there were 10 of us. . . forgot to add myself (DURR) and someone's cousin that they brought along

so $30/person

i think i'll stop editing now

My sister and brother in law have done that too, but they are not a bunch of cheap assed university students (did I mention that place was a buffet and we stayed there for 4 ours until they started sending bulky, frowning guys to take our orders, instead of the polite, willowy, thin girls we got at the beggining?)

Honestly around $98 for a group of 5.

Yes I call that expensive.

Just imagine if it were at a steakhouse or something like that, would be closer to $250+

$120 for two at a Sushi restaurant after smoking pot.. girlfriend and I had the sushi munchies and we ended up eating about 3x what we normally eat. We didn't even feel stuffed after that.. it was like we were bottomless pits that night.

Four people, around $380.

This is a couple of bottles of wine, appetizers, main course and dessert.
