Ehh I'm not sure I'd say it's abit more then that... everything under the hood is the same
the doors are the same, electronics, windows, bucket seats.

that was the figure in MT or c&d or something... something about avalanche vs explorer sporttrac... the "explorer" is pretty much all ranger, but called an SUV. the avalnche was 75% suburban, which is only 25% truck, and is called a truck.

Any others?

Golf platform con't:

Skoda Octavia (Jetta)
Skoda Fabia (Golf)
Seat Ibiza (Golf)
Seat -unknown- (Jetta)

Incorrect. There is just the "Golf-platform". There are no separate Golf and Jetta platforms. That one platform is used in following cars:

VW Golf
VW Bora/Jetta
Skoda Octavia
Audi A3
Seat Toledo
Seat Leon

I'm not sure about the Beetle and TT. Then we have subcategories like GTI, Cabriolet etc. Skoda Fabia is based on the Polo-platform (it's one size smaller than Golf, Octavia etc.), as is Seat Ibiza.

Or something....

Lets look, the Camry chassis's offers about three or four engines I4, V6(of about 3.0L), and one 4.7 V8. It comes in 4dr sedan/2dr coupe, two SUVs, and a minivan(basically all 5 passengers models). Prices ranging from about $20K to 40K.

The Golf chassis's offers, NA I4(1.6, 1.8, 2.0), 1.8T, V6(2.8, 3.2), tdi diesels(1.4, 1.9, 2.5), (there's atleast a few more). It comes in mini-hatch/hatchback, sedan/coupe(beettle, jetta/bora), sports car, convertible, wagons. Prices from about 13K to 45K.

The Golf looks to be atleast as flexible a chassis in every way as the Camry. Camry chassis(being larger) has the SUV, minivan capabilities, while the Golf makes up with, sports cars(TT), mini-hatch(A3), and wagons, basically even here. The Golf pulls out though with much more engines. World wide car sales is probably in the Golf's chassis favor too.

Edit Oops, forgot to mention that my '77 Lincoln is built on what is basically a truck chassis. Just to give you an idea of how versatile that platform is.

The PeePee Cruiser is already derived from the Neon so..............;)
