everybody raves about granite bay this or canerwood that. deservedly so, ofcourse. but there are some
awesome boards that need more love and attention. they're more affordable, excellent performers, and
sport a few next gen features that should make most classes of users very happy.
my vote would go to Gigabyte GA-8SQ800 SiS655.
Gigabyte GA-8SQ800 SiS655 price guide shows the range between 95.00 and 100.00
performance-wise, this Anandtech review of the SiS655 chipset (MSI mobo) proves this baby can whup ass
against the flashier and more touted Asus Granite Bay Mobo.
In addition, the SiS655 is one of the few Dual DDR boards and it supports 400mhz system memory speed
AND hyperthreading technology; plus it has AGP 8x, on-board audio (albeit not on par with Nforce quality -
respectable nonetheless), and many of the other goodies that come with an advanced P4 board. All for less
than 100.00 !! !
