there really is no excuse for the phillies and marlins to let the braves run away with that division YET AGAIN.

funny thing is, even MLB schedulers didn't really think the phillies would be in it at the end, the phillies are scheduled to play the Nats last three games of the season.

check it out, Yankees vs Red Sox last three games (hmmm wonder why), White Sox vs Indians last three games (wow, good choice), Angels vs Texas BUT they play Oakland for 4 games just before they go into texas, that division will probably be determined in the oakland vs angels 4 game series, Padres vs Dodgers (but they also play the Giants 4 games just before they go to LA, if the giants sweep the padres, well anything is possible in the NL Worst).

anyway, i vote for the Phillies as the most underachieving baseball team in MLB.

hence underachieving.

it's funny, the phillies came out and really BLASTED larry bowa the other day, but how come they have almost the same record as they did this time last year with pretty much the same team? if larry bowa was completely at fault, what is their excuse this season.

I would say the dogs from Flushing, but everyone expects them to suck. So, have they really underachieved then?

Manuel's ineptness? Bowa was just too tough for them, bunch of whimps.

every year :(

Don't count them out this year yet.. after that divine intervention game last night I'm ready for anything from this team. I watch almost every game this year and they actually look different now, like they can pull out a win for once. J-Roll up to 29 games on that hit streak BTW.

i'd say the mets don't have the talent that the phillies did. come on, abreu alone is worth more than the top 3 mets. ;)

Yeah, what was that? They had the game, lost it, then regained it. It was quite amazing. I have a feeling the same thing will happen tonight. :)

Pedro alone is worth at least a few Philly pitchers :)

yes, that may be. but looking at their payroll, they are severly underachieving.

injuries and mismangement havent helped either

and this is the REDS the phillies are beating up on, not like the braves playing the Marlins.

Pedro was worth every penny they paid for him this year. too bad he won't be around when their young core of players get some real experience so they can take on the veteran braves, OOOPPPPPPSS, the braves are younger than the mets this year. HTF did that happen. ;)

houston has a 2 game lead on the phillies.

you know, it helps the phillies cause a lot of they WIN after knocking their former manager around.
