Most trouble-free C2D board?

What's my best bet for a problem-free, stable E6400 build? FWIW I do have an X-Fi, not sure if it's still causing problems for some boards. Overclocking isn't a necessity but ~ 2.8-3 would be nice. Also need some decent RAM that plays nice with whichever board I'll be getting.

Budget is $150 for MB and $250 for RAM. I was stuck on the DS3 until I saw the cold-boot problems. How bad is it?

Thank yooooou!

According to Anandtech the cold boot problems have been fixed in the latest bios rev.
Check the motherboard section of the main site.
I am getting one of these boards and I currently have the 1.01G rev of the Asus PB-E board.
Plenty stable even running my e6400 at 3.03Ghz. I hear the newer 1.02G is even better.
Right around your max $.
