Truth is ATI has better Vista Drivers at the moment.
BTW, are you not aware about the new gen cards launching today? I'd keep a close eye on prices and see how they change in the coming WEEK. AMD is about to release their cards too.
Maybe a 4850 could do the job for you (who knows?).

They are all rock solid nowadays... vista is old enough for stability not to be an issue anymore. Sure you can still run into the odd vista bug, but you can also run into the odd XP bug... and guess which is going to be fixed?

Really? How come? I'm using my 8800 GT on Vista since the first week it made its appearance on the market. I've used a couple of Forceware, official and betas too and never encountered a problem. I had my Vista with and without the service pack during this time.
So where does the "better Vista Drivers" for ATI comes from?

it doesn't come from anywhere. Both sides of the camp say their drivers are more stable. 99% of the people that say these types of things have no proof at all of their claim and is just complete opinion.
