I need to build a few new machines to replace the last of our ANCIENT 686's and K6-1's. I wanted to avoid going the P4 route, and thought that the top end K7's would make a good alternative. What's the best CPU/MB combo for use with Windows 2000 running ACPI kernal ? Also, best inexpensive VideoCard for mostly office apps. I don't intend to do *ANY* overclocking. Just need it to run STABLE in a network env. with heavy TCP/IP traffic. I've already decided on IBM 60GXP series HD's ( 20&40Gig vers ) and Intel Pro100+ NIC's. Thanks for any help/advice you can provide! :)

Asus A7M266 is the most stable DDR board avialable, but it costs $170. Still, I think it's worth every dollar. As for a Video Card, Matrox G450 for Office work, plus it has Dual Monitor support, and can be found for $80 or so.
