I need to replace my mobo for my work computer cause it keeps crashing, restarting, locking, and corrupting my registry. It could be a combination of things, but I've gotten approval to replace the mobo and I'm so tired of problems that I want to find out what could be considered the most solid, reliable, problem free mobo on the market.

All other factors are out the window. I'm not looking for features or overclockability, or even performance. I just want the most reliable mobo you guys have heard of.

I have an Athlon XP 1800 and 3x256MB Crucial PC2100 RAM.

Any suggestions?

What kind of board do you have now and what OS are you running??

Replacing the motherboard is not a fix all, you need to find what your problems is now, maybe motherboard, and after fixing it then upgrade.

I'm running Windows XP Pro on an Asus A7V266-E.

I've had the board for 1 1/2 years now, and about 8-10 months ago I started to have some hokey problems. I ran full DocMem diagnostics on my RAM and found out one of the sticks was bad, so I took it out. It ran fine for a few months after that, but since the beginning of this year I've had seven total system crashes, three of which required a Windows reinstall, and four of which required a registry recovery (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307545).

I'm not too bad with hardware and my best diagnosis is my mobo needs to be replaced. I've replaced and tested other components to come to this conclusion. I've gotten approval to purchase the new mobo, and if it takes other parts to fix it after I get the new mobo then I'm not going to complain about having gotten the new part. Know what I mean?

Well then get a nForce2 board with the MCP-T southbridge. The Epox, Abit, and if you need a mATX board look at the shuttle MN31N board, are all good.
