Honestly, I think this is a fool's argument. There are so many events which are pivotal to the world as we see it now. Without the ability to travel back in time and alter history we can't really judge which had a "greater" impact, as the whole of human existence seems to be a giant amalgamation of chaotic happenstance. If Hamurabbi hadn't written his laws would Jesus never have existed? If Lincoln hadn't been shot would World War II have occurred? These are all meaningless comparisons because each event, while certainly crucial to the formation of the modern world, has effects that are so subtle, far-reaching, and varied that they should/could only be considered as part of a whole.
