I'm looking for a computer to use for doing small business stuff on (website stuff, order stuff, invoice stuff, etc). Basically it has to be at least 500mhz or so. It just needs to be really, really stable. I'll be using Windows 2000 on it. I've been considering the mini-itx platform, because it's inexpensive, small, quiet, and seem to be fairly reliable. If I get one of those, I'd probably get a stick of Crucial RAM for stability, as well as a small LCD (15" or 17') and a Seagate hard drive, as well as basic equipment (keyboard, mouse, etc.).

Is there an older computer that is really well known for it's stability? The most stable computer I've owned so far is a Compaq Professional Workstation 5000, which was only a 200mhz Pentium Pro but was rock solid :) My new Dell Dimension 4600 is pretty nice too.

Are the PowerEdge 400SC computers stable? They've been going for incredibly cheap lately.

Thoughts, comments, ideas?

400sc for $333 after rebate

edit: select 2.8 p4 and select the warrantee to the "1Yr,Parts + Onsite Labor (Next Business Day) [subtract $99]" option and select "FREE UPGRADE to 80GB 7.2K RPM IDE Hard Drive"

A ram upgrade will be needed, but can be done elsewhere.
