Hi we have been using Maxell 35/70 GB DLT tapes and 2 have failed in the past 6 months. Any recommendation to what tape is the most reliable? Many thanks! -T

How has tapes failed ? I know veritas software had a bug in their software where if it finish writing, the tape rewinds before the thing finish and makes it useless..

I use Fuji, no problems, Sony, no problems, and Quantum, most expensive..

what software are you using anyway ? and which brand drive ?

SDLT is my next step to go..

Thanks. The tapes heads were ripping right off the tape. Thanks... we were thinking of going Quantum. Thanks again.

We have been using quantum for over 5yrs. We never had a bad tape. All of the problems we have had, like ripped tapes, came from the drive itself.
