Posted this in general hardware, but this seems like a more accurate forum.

Looking for a wireless mouse/keyboard. Want something that isn't too big on leeching memory like I've heard some of the BT sets do, no (or absolutely minimal) lag, reliable and decent looking. I was all into the dinovo but have heard a tonne of problems about it, including the space bar not working on more than one occasion and the BT drivers leeching memory/start up time. I don't need a bunch of media functions, I just want the thing to work, work well, and not be ugly or effect the performance of my pc.

Saw a thread discussing the mx3000 and mx5000s setups here:

I would just really like to know what kind of effect BT drivers have on windows. There's no way I can try any of these out, and I just basically need to know if there's any slowdown when booting up media programs etc. if I use the media functions. I don't know why I'm so wary of wireless, but I've been using a corded mx500 forever which I love as well as a corded internet navigotor, which is about 5 years old. I'd just like stuff that I will use as much and will be as trouble-free.

I've been using an A4Tech cordless set for a couple of years with no problem except there is no low-battery warning, so you just have to watch for hinky behavior. When my first battery set started to die, fill-in fields like this Quiclk Reply would hang up.
And the little slippery pads on the mouse aren't stuck on very well. One of mine was loose in the box when I bought it. Some Kensington and MicroInnovations cordless sets are made by A4Tech too. http://www.A4Tech.com . They have a neat set that has the number pad on the left. That's the next one on my list I think. My review of the set I have is at http://www.techimo.com/reviews/ . And there are other reviews of A4Tech sets around that can be found with Google, etc.

Really not a big fan of the look of the mouse unfortunately, I'm just so used to my mx500.

I also need minimal media controls. I like the look of the dinovo the most since it doesn't have that "bulge" at the top of the keyboard with a bunch of useless media controls. They're still there, but don't look bad.
