Given they are the same year, and all factors the same, which make of car (of the two listed - PLEASE don't suggest something else) would make your jaw drop lower? In other words, which is more prestigious?

I'd go with the geo, as long as we aren't talking about the storm or the metro. The prism and the the tracker are pretty good vehicles.

considering geo died a pitiful death, and kia is slowly improving... its not a hard decision:)

listen...if you're buying either a geo or kia...you're not looking for prestige and if you are you're certainly not going to get it from either, so the question is moot.

Hyundai now owns Kia and the Sonata V6 is a damn fine car. I think Kia has the same with a different name on it. The Geo line is all re-badged non-chevy built cars, so it depends on who the original mfg is, the prizim is a toyota, so it rocks, but a couple are suzuki's.

Neither one of these would/should cause anyone's jaw to drop. Budget is obviously the driving factor in your choice of cars. If you are limited to only these choices go for value for the money and reliability. Neither of these brands has a high resale value so plan on keeping it for a long time - you will lose your shirt if you sell within a short period of time after purchase.

Well, the Geo Tracker really is a pretty good truck. It actually has a decent reputation for off roading. But then there's the Metro... Kia on the other hand, has a few good products as well. Not the greatest, but they're getting better. Geo is dead anyway, so it's a moot point.

Having prestige; esteemed.

Prestigious?

Where, in Bangladesh or Liberia?

:p

I paid $5988 for a brand new 2002 Kia Rio for it's 100,000 mile warranty - not to bolster my esteem or to pick up chicks (I don't need a "nice" car for that). :p

:D

edit: apologies to Liberians and residents of Bangladesh . . . ;)
(somehow I was picturing Mr Taylor fleeing Monrovia in a Metro Limo)

:D

huh? I dont get it. what are you trying to say? I know what prestigious means. Here I'll use it in a sentence: Bush attended the prestigious yale university.

Well - originally - my comment agreed with yours - that the GEO or KIA is NOT prestigious (except perhaps in the poorest of the 3rd world countries - Geo Metro Limo anyone?).

The dictionary definition was for the ORIGINAL poster . . .

I bought my Kia because it was CHEAP and has a great warranty (and - so far, nearly 40K trouble-free miles).
