Most Powerful CPU for Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H

Hello all,

I am currently running a GA-880GA-UD3H with an AMD Phenom II X4 945. I am wondering if there is an easy way for me to determine the most powerful chip that I can put into it. Thanks a lot for your thoughts.

So I am pretty sure I could easily go to the "AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition", but not too sure about going to the "AMD Phenom II X6 1045T 1055T 1090T or 1100T".

Are there other chips I should be looking at as well?

you have a 4+1 phase supply on the motherboard, be careful with overclocking or CPU upgrades.

I just read your answer again. I am not sure I understand your warning. I won't be OCing the CPU at all, but why worry about just an upgrade?
