I need a list, because I would like to make a summer of 2004 CD for memories. So, I'd just like songs that were heavily played on the radio. No hip-hop, pop, country, etc. Just mostly rock, alternative, emo, punk, etc. Thanks in advance!

I got this so far...
counting crows - accidentally in love
hoobastank - the reason is you
beastie boys - check it out
the killers - somebody told me

popular songs 9,999 times out of 10,000 usually suck

just make a cd of good songs that remind you of this summer

Eh, I can't think of one for this summer, but I can think of songs for the previous two summers:

2002: "Southern Sun" by Paul Oakenfold (First heard it while vacationing on Ibiza, Spain.)
2003: "Nothing But You" by Paul Van Dyk (First heard it while vacationing on Naxos, Greece.)

Beastie Boys weren't the most popular it seems this summer, also many people would categorize them under hip hop

I've been listening to a lot Punjabi songs lately.

If anyone doesnt know what they are, they are loud fast paced songs from India, a state of punjab. I heard my friends playing em and ever since then Im a big fan.

Usher - Yeah!
Usher - Confessions Part 2
Usher - Burn
Ashlee Simpson - Pieces of Me
JoJo - Get Out

Those are the most over-played on the radios here.
