Stairway to Heaven and Free Bird.

They're overplayed because they're so long it gives the DJ time to take a cr@p.

"Happy Birthday To You"

haha j/k on that one :D

Well it's got to be an old song, so anything by 50 Cent, Evanescence, or anyone else from this century can't really be considered. We're talking about something which gets hammered into your head for DECADES. I'm casting my vote for "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I hear it on classic rock radio, the occasional oldies or country/western station, ad jingles, football/concert tailgates (usually by some dude with a pickup flying the Rebel flag), and movies.

Another song approaching the danger zone is "Hot Hot Hot" by Buster Poindexter. Not quite as overplayed on the radio but it seems you can't watch a commercial break on the nightly news without some sort of car company, travel agency, etc. using it as a jingle. I wish so much I could replace it with some punk tunes by the New York Dolls in order to explain Buster's true identity to everyone

Key largo, montego baby why don?t we go
Jamaica

Off the florida keys
There?s a place called kokomo
That?s where you wanna go to get away from it all

Bodies in the sand
Tropical drink melting in your hand
We?ll be falling in love
To the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in kokomo

This is why I hate commercial radio. Every one of those songs are overplayed. I like variety.

College radio ftw!

BTW, what happened to Outkast's "Hey Ya"? That was literally on every single commercial radio station, 2-3 times every hour for months!

In my college radio days, I did something similar. I played Champagne Supernova by Oasis to go to the bathroom, get a snack, whatever. After cuing it up to where the song actually started (after the "swishing" intro) I had exactly 7 minutes before I had to be back.

All of the equipment was from the 60's, and only 2 of the 3 CD players worked. You couldn't set it up to switch to the next sone on the other CD player. Everything was manual :(

Man, that's old school. The station I was at used some computer based system that played MP2 files.

I'm blanking as to what the program was called though.

Green Day songs. I got over the craze a few months after American Idiot came out. I concluded which songs were good and finally they play them on the radio... except now nonstop. Gee did it take people that long to realize which songs were good?
