most overclockable P4 cpu

Hi. I just wonder which one is the most overclockable cpu for the i875/i865 chipset motherboards ? I think someone mentioned the 2.4c Ghz cpu couple weeks back. Price difference between a 2.4 and 2.6 is very slim. Thanks.

The most overclockable P4 is the 1.6A. The most overclockable P4C is the 2.4C, but only if you get a motherboard that can handle in the neighborhood of 300 FSB. I would go with the 2.6C. Even though you could theoretically get it the same speed as the 2.4C, you would get higher realistically with the 2.6, and you might be able to run the memory faster ( a 5:4 vs. a 3:2) with the 2,6, which would give you better performance.

Well for me, there is none. Overclocking is an art of putting together really good quality pieces and making them perform harmoniously beyond their specifications. There are a lot of factors to consider when you want to perform it, such as how far you want to go and how much you are willing to spend. Stability should be your utmost concern, who would want to have the fastest pc yet unstable anyway!
