I am looking for the most overclockable motherboard with AMD 761 or Via KT266 chump set.

I will be running 1.33 GHz Athlon in it, with RAM at 150 MHz or higher.

There is the EPoX 8K7A and MSI-KT266 Pro.. are there any other boards to consider?
I don't care about only 2 DIMM's or no Raid.

Any comments and links are highly appreciated!

The AMD has shown itself to be the better performer in benchtests, so I'd say go there, as far as overclocking, that's going to depend more on the motherboard manufacturer than the chipset.

Should I be concerned with the fact that the physical jumpers can break and fall out?
Are there any problems with their reliability?

Epox 8K7A for AMD761, MSI K7T266 Pro for KT266. Those two are the most overclockable to the best of my knowledge.

No. But I think if you want fully jumperless, you should go with the MSI KT266.

I would say the Epox. The Asus is ok, but you can't change the mulitplier, so that will limit any overclocking you do. Also, the Epox will allow you to kick the vcore all the way to 2.15v...

By ram I am guessing you mean ddr and 150 is either the fsb or the speed before it is double pumped, right? Epox board is DDR and pc2100 memory is 266mhz memory...I have seen reports of some insane fsb speeds near 180 on the epox board plus tremendous multiplier adjustments for pci cards as well...

Sorry, I was talking about their AMD760 offering the A7M266..I believe it does not have muliplier support. Also, I wouldn't consider the ALI chipset the best choice in DDR chipsets right now, it is not bad, but it doesn't perform up to AMD760 levels.

Insane,

I dont think even the A7A266 has multipliers, at least not from the reviews.

I saw several reviews that said A7A266 is the least overclockable board, because of the missing clock-multiplier and something else..

But I guess anything better that Compaq's BIOS can be considered an improvement :)

Duvie,

Yep, I am talking about the FSB - I don't like the DDR terminology, but you can interpret my 150 MHz as 300 MHz DDR.

LXi, you're right. This is taken from Tom's review of the A7A266...

"Overclocking fans will be less impressed by this board: An adjustment of the multiplier is not possible, as the board is not equipped with the necessary DIP switch. "
