Most overclockable 35 WATT mobile XP?

Yes another car pc question.. does anyone know what the most overclockable 35Watt XP is? I'd like to keep power consumption down to a minimum....thanks....

You're putting a computer in a car? OK. 🙂

First of all, by overclocking the 35w CPU you're defeating the purpose of the power savings.

Second, I'm pretty sure they make 25w XPs.

Third, why aren't you just using a laptop? They'll use up waaaaay less power and will probably cost around the same as a PC+LCD.

Can you find me a decent 1.5Ghz or higher laptop for under 300 bucks? Nope. Besides I'll be using a 7" LCD made for cars and using the TV-OUT on the 9200SE I've got coming. Any there are no 25W XPs, only 35W and 45W...If this plan doesn't work out, I'll just go with a VIA EPIA mini-ITX mobo....

Yes there are

AXMS1600FWS3B AthlonXP Mobile 1600+ (25W)
AXMS1600GXS3C AthlonXP Mobile 1600+ (25W)
AXMS1700GXS3C AthlonXP Mobile 1700+ (25W)
AXMS1800GXS3C AthlonXP Mobile 1800+ (25W)
AXMS1800GXS4C AthlonXP Mobile 1800+ (25W)
AXMS1900GXS4C AthlonXP Mobile 1900+ (25W)
AXMS2000GXS4C AthlonXP Mobile 2000+ (25W)
AXMS2100GXS4C AthlonXP Mobile 2100+ (25W)
AXMT2200GXS4C AthlonXP Mobile 2200+ (25W)

I had heard about the 25w XP Mobiles a long time ago; that's why I reccomended one.

What is this thing going to be doing? Why would you need to overclock it if it's only pushing a 7" LCD? As soon as you raise the voltage it's no longer a 25w CPU.

I don't really want to overclock the CPU speed persay, but I want to raise the FSB and lower the multiplier to reduce as much lag as possible....now, do you know where I can get one of those mobile 2200+ ?

It appears that the 25w mobiles were released awhile ago in small quantities but now they're gone. Newegg even had some.

It looks like you're stuck with the 35w mobiles for now. This one looks like a steal. For $60 you can't go wrong.

I don't know why this one costs $10 more when it looks to be the same thing as above.

Best 35wt CPU that I've come across are the XP2400's IQYHA... hitting 2.3-2.4GHz+ @ 1.75v's

Appx...

Somebody just returned it suggesting that it either has problems or does not overlook well. I would get a refurb for over clocking.

Why would you need to overclock a carputer?
Last time I used, GPS software doesn't demand a lot... same reason why lots of us use VIA C3 (Eden) boards

i got a refurbished one and plan to underclock it to 600 mhz at 1.25 vcore for a truly silent file server

See if you can find a AMD Geode (sp?) CPU. They fit SocketA boards and use even less power then a VIA C3 but are better chips.

OR just get a Mobile AthlonXP 2600 and change FSB to 333 and lower the multiplier and voltage.
