Most interesting rebate check...

Just got a rebate check from a Sunbeamtech CCF today. It came in a hand addressed envelope with a rubber stamped return address. I opened it up knowing it was a rebate check - and chuckled a little when I found a company check (the typical green ledger kind) with the details, amount and such hand written.

I wish more companies would handle their rebates directly like this.

Wow I have not heard of sunbeam in a while. When I ran my computer business I used to order from them through a company called tradexinfo.

Best "rebate" check I every got was for $0.01. Yeah you read that right, 1 penny. Quite possibly the best thing ever. Apparently I overpaid by a penny and instead of letting it slide, they took the time to mail our a check and pay for postage, on a 1 cent check. Best part is, I can't even cash it because it was from an apartment complex, and me and my 3 other roommates names are all on the check. We now live on opposite sides of the country, meaning this check will never be cashed. I keep it around in hopes that one day I can frame it as a motivational poster saying "Automation: Yeah there are still some bugs to work out"

THAT is awesome. But on the other hand, if they did not do that, you'd have people that would actually sue over 1 penny. LOL
