Most important part.

I always pay special attention to the chipset, which is the limiting factor on memory support, cpu support, bus speed,,,,,.

Before I buy a motherboard, I will see what chipset it uses, then go to the manufactors website and read the specs.
 
single most important part IMO is the power supply for any system..cheap ones can and do fry entire systems....
 
On the motherboard itself, assuming the logic design was done properly (ie: its a good chipset), I'd have to agree with the above poster -- the motherboard's PSU is the most important.

A bad PSU on the motherboard is the difference between a board that remains stable for a year or two, and doesn't overclock well, and a board that remains stable for 10+ years and has better overclockability if that's your thing.
