Make sure you state the game. It can be single or multiplayer. I'm sure most answers will be multiplayer, but some singleplayer games can still take alot of time (mainly open world RPGs like Oblivion, or stuff like the Sims, Civ, Total war etc...)

Mine would be WoW. If you combine the playtime of all my characters it would be around 300 days (7200 hours.) Though I quit long ago, and don't regret a minute of it (still in contact with my wow buddies.)

Heroes of Newerth is second, having played roughly 1500 hours. Dota would have to be third. I don't have numbers for it (played it mostly on LAN with friends) but it has to be over 500 hours.

What about you?
 
I don't know the exact amount of hours, but Diablo 2 sucked up 4 years of my free time (usually about 4 hours/day average). Sim City 4 was about 2 years (same amount of hours) and WoW was also 2 years. WoW I think made up the most though, because I was unemployed for a couple months of it, and was playing 12 hours a day for a lot of those days.

Neverwinter Nights. It's just one game, but thanks to the toolset (and the modding community!) I played hundreds of different modules/stories/campaigns. One of the all time greats. I wish I knew how many hours it actually was though.
 
Neverwinter Nights as well. Between Bastions of War and Higher Grounds I could play it forever if it only had the player base to do so.
 
Either Diablo II or Counter Strike (1.6). No idea how many hours but I shared time between those two for like 5-6 years.

Haven't been able to log nearly as much time in games since HS, my max on Steam's time logging is X3 w/ ~300 hours.
 
I have 2800 hours in BF2.

I probably have more in Everquest but I don't know, and not looking to pay $15 to resubscribe to check, lol.
 
EverQuest or WoW not sure of the exact time but it would be 100's of days of actual play time for each one.
 
WoW, without a doubt. Been playing that off and on since vanilla.

Not counting MMOs, I think I'd have to say TF2 at 270 hours.
 
I couldn't even begin to guess. I'm sure just given the nature of the beast that it's a competition between Everquest, WoW, and Dark Age of Camelot. Single player games? Shoot-out between Civ I, Railroad Tycoon I, Might and Magic III, C&C I, Warcraft I.
 
No idea, but it's definitely CS/CS:S for me. Back in the day I played it a ton and when Source first came out we played that a ton too.

Single player I really don't know... maybe Fallout 3 even though I ignored a lot of the side stuff. Maybe Just Cause 2 because I played around with it a lot outside of the main story. I doubt either of them even hit 100 hours though. I just don't play games that often anymore.

He's using X-fire. Nice gaming chat/tracking tool, and its free, so why not?

Myself, top 4 games, all RPGs of some kind: There are other games that I played obsessively before I got Xfire, like Day of Defeat Source, that would probably come in at several hundred hours here.

Guild Wars - 250 hours
Dragon Age: Origins - 158 hours
Mass Effect - 135 hours
Mass Effect 2 - 121 hours
 
2500+ for Subspace, you people with 8k plus... I considered myself addicted to the point of poor health when I was playing subspace for 4 years or so, I have no idea how you function spending that much time on a game. Even if it is spread out over 9 years or however long wow has been around.
 
I've got no idea on number of hours, but I can say that the top five time soaks for me are:

NWN1 (Far too many)
NWN2 (too many)
Galactic Civ 2 (Many)
Diablo 2 (more than 500)
Baldur's Gate Series as a whole.
 
Over 400 days played in wow so thats ~9600+. Id have to log in but Im pretty sure i was over 10k hours. That was from WoW release to last april so Id probably be over 12k hours if I still played.
 
Diablo 2 was my life for around 2 years! Best 2 years ever IMO 🙂 Damn you 1.10 for ruining everything for me ;/ Dunno how many hours i spent on it though.
 
I probably hit 3k hours in Dota. I'm probably above 1k now in LoL, probably around the same in Starcraft BW, and Age of Empires II.
