OK this might be off the mark with you guys but the most gruesome scene I can recall is in Van Wilder where Van has to "relieve" his dog and then him and his buddies proceed to offer up his dogs "work" to the frat house in the form of creamy pastries....

yeah that was uncalled for......

The American History X curb scene got to me.

That scene was crazy! Everytime i watch the movie it still shocks me.

hmm another movie.. though not really "gruesome" but the scene in the beggining of Battle Royale where a little girl smiles with blood all over her was umm.. distrubing. Another scene when some giddy instructor video telling the students the rules to Battle Royale was just weird!

another vote for the curb check in American History X. That's probably one of the only movie scenes that I can't watch.

American History X - The curb scene is just horrible.

Trainspotting - The toilet scene almost made me puke in the theater.

Dead Presidents - I just saw it and the "castration scene" was pretty gruesome.

Black Hawk Down - Digging for the femoral artery - yikes!

Saving Private Ryan - The first time you see Mellish get knifed, it is just ghastly!

We Were Soldiers - You don't expect THAT much skin to come off...

These are ALL horribly gruesome...

Nevertheless, the worst thing I have ever seen was the video going around of the Russian Soldier being killed.

I DL'd that, but I was warned not to watch it, so I deleted it w/o seeing it. I don't regret it. I just wonder why I would have wanted to see something like that in the first place.

Do you have the Anniversary Edition DVD? There's two angles included of that shot. One of them shows it from the back right of the cop and you can see the ear come clean off.

Did you know that in SPR, they used real amputees for the beach landing scene?

The curbing scene in American History X makes my mouth hurt every time I see it.

Strangland is indeed SCREWED UP. What else can we expect from Dee Snyder though...

I heard one of the reasons House of 1000 Corpses kept getting dropped was because it was ultra gory. I'm crossing my fingers for an unedited, uncut DVD release.

24 is the second best tv show on next the The Shield. Speaking of The Shield ;) it has a nice little scene were Vic beats the hell out of some guy with a book and then holds his face on an electric stove burner. Quite nasty.

Funny, I happened to see that Shield last night(thank God for TIVO) Man, what a freakin great show that was. I mean, for a basic cable channel to air a show as gory as that , is amazing. Having said that I also think that episode may have been the greatest TV program ever to air. The producers really have made the tension on this show almost unbearable to watch. Damn good for television if you ask me.

Oh, and btw Vic beats the guy ,and beats the guy, and beats the guy,so bad that blood sprays all over his(Vic's) face and then he cooks his face on the electric stove. But after a few seconds of agony, he pulls him off and asks himm a question. When no answer spews forth, he puts it back on the grill! Then they finally restrain him and the guy slumps to the floor. Cut to a closeup of the dude missing all of his front teeth and a nice looking ring of burns swelling up on the side of his face. Nasty as hell.

One more thing, if Michael Chiklis doesn't win the Emmy for best actor again this year, then something is definitely wrong.

Peace

I would say the scene in Robocop where the shoot the sh!t out of the Murphy.

Also Robocop but then the part where this guy gets acid all over his body and while he is litteraly melting and trying to walk this truck rides right into him.... **SPLAT**

Then the driver wipes the guts away from the front window...

Also Robocop2 where they get this guys heart and spinal out of his body while still alive.. to be implanted into one of those robo machines.

yuck

That scene from Robocop was pretty funny. I know it's sick, but I laugh every time I see that guy get splattered. And Event Horizon? That's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen that wasn't a comedy...I laughed through the whole movie, especially near the end.

Ichi the Killer, where the guy cuts off his own tongue to make up for his disgrace.

Close second is also in Ichi the Killer when the guy hot grease all over the guy's back.

American History X - Nazi Kiss (kicks the guys teeth by making him put his mouth open on the curb) OUCH!

Hannibal - gets inside the dudes head and makes him cut away his own face w/ shards of glass and feed them to the dogs...disgusting.

A lot of those are faked. The monkey, for example, was a faked scene. The first one has a lot more real scenes, but after that, much of it is fake.
