Most fun car you've ever driven?

It's a tossup for me...

'07 Miata and '08 RX-8.

Telepathic handling, and two of the best manual shifting cars I have ever had the pleasure of flogging through the gears.

I really liked my Mazdaspeed Protege. It handled very well for a FWD car and was plenty fast after some upgrades. I felt very confident when driving that car hard.

They are basically the same suspensions, it's just a little shorter wheel base in the Miata. :awe:

I know.

When I needed a 3rd seat (new daughter), I traded the Miata for the RX-8. Nothing else in the price range was as much fun to drive for me.

Koenigsegg CCX at the track. Loads of torque everywhere, and amazing balance. Wife drove it too:

I hate you

My most fun car was my Ford Festiva. 4 speed, no OD and it was $50 when I bought it. YES, FIFTY. Since I didn't give a shit if I destroyed it or not, it was the most fun car EVER.

Ah damn, you're right. I was thinking they kept that older motor setup for one more year, it was the '84 Vette that was a total dog (for a V8, even more so for carrying the Vette name). I do know one thing, being a former driver of a 100% stock '96 GS LT4, that chassis and overall vehicle balance is prone to flash oversteer. After driving an even more powerful C5 Z06, I was amazed at how much more composed the Vette had become.

I also gave the SVT Contour too much credit perhaps, I thought it was somehow close to the SVT Focus, which puts down better slalom times than same-era Vettes, Boxsters, etc.

No.....85 was the first year for the L98 with TBI (a real big step up from the 84's L83). I'm still in the market for a 96 LT4 though.
I believe the SVT Contour was probably the mildest car SVT ever put out but I just really liked mine.

Have had several "fun" cars over the years.....

'64 VW we'd bomb through the woods on lunch hour and weekends. Loads of fun and the Bug refused to die no matter how we treated it.

'73 Fiat X1/9.....as long as you were in curves. Straights were monotonous as its sub-100 hp engine was pathetic then.

'69 Olds 442 W-30 convert....damned fast, good ride for what it was.

'71 Ford LTD wagon.....used it one summer for "camping".....you figure it out.
