WAtching the MAcys parade scooby doo baloon comes on and katie couric says scooby doo has the most episodes airing of any cartoon series. Is this true? I thought Simpsons was the longest running cartoon with the most episodes? Or the Flintstones...
anyone with any insight on this?

Apparantly its true, this was on the news a few months ago. If anyone had asked me I would have said 'The Simpsons' as well, but when you think about it 'Scooby Doo' has been around for 40 odd years (guessing) in some form or another.

so wow...looks like they are practically a tie at the moment...so they can just keep making up new characters for scooby doo and it can continue going....simpsons on the other hand can't quiet keep doing that seems like. and yeah looks like flintstons only has 166 (thank you wikipedia 😉
i see no # of episodes for gundam but says its been running since 1981? so i imagne they are verging on 500?

i think since they count ALL the incarnation of scooby and scrappy and etc thats why it gets that number up there. Simpsons has no spinoffs thus no addition of extra episodes like that. Simpsons defaintely has the most episodes of a single run of a cartoon (or is it of all tv apart from news shows?)

I'd really like to see a cletus the slackjawed yokel spinoff, or a ralph spinoff, there spinoff episode had a couple good ideas actually...
