Yeah I've been to Oakland, not all over though, where exactly are the nicer areas? The areas I've gone to were close to the harbor.

Look I tutor in Oakland. It's sure as hell ghetto. I was shocked by the utter stupidity of students when compared to students in other parts of the bay area...

I dunno about that equation, We bought a new townhouse just outside of Seattle for 330k and a similar size townhouse just outside of SF was closer to 800k so it might be more like 2.5x the price.

only one section of oakland is bad.. and it is really bad.. i think it has the highest murder rate in the nation yes?? anyway.. oakland is pretty big, and there are a lot of rich people that live up in the hills and such
