Lies..... The English Muffin Is Not English at All

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but English muffins did not originate in England. In fact, the British weren't even aware of their existence until Thomas's English muffins were imported from America in the 1990s.
Samuel Bath Thomas invented the English muffin. A British ex-pat, he emigrated to New York City in 1874. By 1880, he had his own bakery in the neighborhood now known as Chelsea. That's where he invented what he called a "toaster crumpet."
It became quite popular on the turn-of-the-century hotel and restaurant scene, as it was seen as a sophisticated alternative to toast. The term "English muffin" was coined in 1894 and was soon widely adopted.

1) I don't tip less than $3 for anything, unless service was horrible AND it was the server's fault.
2) If you picked it up, I don't think a tip is really needed, since you weren't given a service.
3) To be controversial, you would have had to pay with a $10 bill, 88 cents in change that you carry around with you like some stone age imbecile, and ask for $5.88 in change. That would put AT into an uproar since math would have to be involved.

Turkish delight is also actually Turkish....I think.

Turkish Delights are awesome, unless they are rose-flavored, in which case they are awful. Basically like eating potpourri. Same thing with chocolates...why you would put lavender in chocolate is beyond me :p

Being generous is one thing ... but setting unrealistic expectations is another, pernicious, thing.

Now the onus is on me to go forth and lower expectations.

So using the OP as an excuse to be a cheap ass? That works.

:D
