mosquito repellant

what works and doesn't smell like nasty chemicals? Anything?

I would prefer not to have to take a shower afterwards as well (is this asking too much?)

I bought one of those damn aero ace planes - and am getting bitten to hell and back by mosquitos

All effective repellents are going to have an odor. Sorry, but you can learn to live with that, or the itching. Take your pick.

As an alternative, you could wear one of those bug repellant wristbands. They're smelly, but at least they're removable. I'm not sure how well they work, though, as I haven't tried them myself.

deet deep woods works very well, one time i sprayed every surface of my body and missed my eyeballs and inside my nose (did not know this would be a problem)......i was at this job site with so many mosquitos but no bites, they where coming for my eyes and inside my nose......weirdest thing i had to put on sunglasses and a bandana over my nose....... sucks to live in a place with so many mosquitos.....

Anything with DEET or Phenthrin (sp? something like that) is supposed to be best. But its not good stuff, you'll need to wash your clothes, shower, make sure hands are washed before eating/drinking, etc. Sucks, but thats what you gotta do if the mosquites are bad. Trust me, I know.

<-- Lived in U.P. of Michigan for all my life, people think we still got outhouses heh

the avon thing is a myth/placebo, that is just hand lotion

use DEET or get a carbon dioxide mosquito trap if you want results

Anything with DEET works but is bad for you (or so they say) also it stinks, try the new picardin based stuff, it is odorless and works, check this link for info.

DEET is fine, it isn't "bad for you" , that is a myth

Maybe so but I don't like putting it on my kids, and an alternative that has been proven safe and also works well is in my opinion what I will use.

If you use DEET, you MUST shower. The stuff is absorbed by your skin and is a known cause of nervous system damage.
