I've heard this thrown around a lot, and I find myself asking why. A significant number of Americans don't have a problem with this community center, and of those that DO object to it, do you think all of them object strongly enough to turn down work in this economy to help make some political point? Part of the reason I think 2/3 of Americans oppose this building is because it's a total abstraction for them...but it's not if you're the one getting paid for building it.

7% is a huge amount. Owning $3 Billion worth of News Corp is more than any person not named Rupert Murdoch. The guy is very friendly with Murdoch and definitely has his ear. Murdoch and Waleed are much closer than Rauf and Waleed will ever be.
