Mortgage Rates: Need a site

Can't you do that at Bankrate.com?

Edit: IIRC, bankrate gives you the best rates whether local or big banks or internet banks, etc. I'm not sure it's exactly what you are looking for.

I tried it at bankrate. It gives me 2 small banks. Banks I never heard of.
It also doesn't let me pick the nearest city. It picks a city for me that is 90 miles away.

Maybe I am looking at the wrong place

It may not pick the smaller cities at Bankrate. I have no issues with Lexington, KY as it's the 2nd biggest city in KY. Sorry, I don't know of others at this time. Good luck! 🙂

bankrate has been sucking for quite some time for me now. I rarely get anything more than two banks when I check. Not sure if it's where I live (NC) or how much I'm asking (105K). Anyways, have you tried lendingtree? They don't give rates, but they let banks compete for your business.

Read the reviews of lendingtree and you will be warned against the site. Apparently a whole bunch of spammers and predatory lenders use that site.

A few years back I wanted to refi and contacted lendingtree. I was contacted by pushy assholes who wouldn't answer my questions or tail the loan the way I wanted. They had their script and kept to it. I got calls for months after I refi'd because they wouldn't take no for an answer. You're better off hitting up your local banks.

Oh, don't believe a thing the banks tell you until you get a printout in your hot little hands.
