The newest chapter of the iconic fight franchise marks a triumphant return to the series’ mature presentation and a reinvention of its classic 2D fighting mechanic. Driven by an all new graphics engine, the fan favorite Fatality is back and presented in more gory detail than ever before. In addition, Mortal Kombat introduces a number of new game-play features including tag team and the deepest story mode of any fighting game. Players can choose from an extensive lineup of the game’s iconic warriors and challenge their friends in traditional 1 vs. 1 matches, or take on several new game modes.

You get to see a bit of Kung Lao's fatality at the end of the trailer, its gonna look nasty 😀

New 13 minute video http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6266626 lots of gamplay is shown plus scorpions fatality, the pit II fatality and kung lao cut-you-in-half fatality 😀

saw this last night and it looks really nice, i love the mk2/mk3 roots that they are going back to.

it would be 100% golden however if they didn't use 3d models and instead used real people like they did for the original games.

I think real people would look terrible.

Slightly looking forward to this. Is the MK community as hardcore as the Street Fighter community? I can't even play SF online because it seems like half the people I play dedicated their lives to it.

yea it probaby would look odd in this gen, probably nostalgia just talking heh.

mk scene is not nearly as hardcore as the sf one, i think a lot of it has to do w/cause the latest mk games have been complete ass, the the fighting engine in general was pretty basic in the classic mk games.

i will say though i was watching the UMK3 finals a couple weeks ago at ECT and that was some VERY VERY entertaining shit. i had never seen UMK3 played at that level and it was really cool to see. here is a link to the finals.

And about playing sf online, you just gotta play more to get better. and you won't get better playing AI, you will probably get worse.
