Mortal Kombat 8 - The Icey Thread of Subzero and Batmans Makeout

Yeah, I saw that earlier today. Guess they're a little late to the party in copying Marvel vs Capcom. Dibs on Superman and Darkseid!

Anyways, there was another link saying that it won't even be a traditional Mortal Kombat game - ie, no blood and no fatalities.
 
There's a MK8 now? Somebody needs to perform a fatality on this franchise. You could probably take all sales combined between 3 till now and it wouldn't even equal the original one.

 
MK Deception was a pretty decent game and had somewhat of a decent fighting engine, that's the only one since part 3 that I played extensively. it wasn't great but it wasnt bad.

to get me back into mk they would have to go back to 2D w/real people and have no run button 😀

precisely. MK2 stands as my all time favorite Mortal Kombat, although 3 was pretty fun too. 4 started the downward spiral of fail, that has creeped back up a little bit with recent iterations, but the 3D continues to be a disconnect from the MK experience IMHO.

What's the point of playing MK if there's no buckets of blood and off the chain fatalities? Midway can suck it.
 
All I can tell you is, I LOVE playing MKII on my PS3 online. And when MK8 comes out, guess what I'll be playing? That's right, MKII online. 😉

Edit: And that was my 10,000th post. Very sad and pathetic moment for me. 🙁
 
to be honest that looks totally fucken awesome. could be the restart the franchise needs. no blood or fatalities is a deal killer though. hopefully thats not true or they rethink it.

I like the Vs. DC idea, but it needs blood and fatalities. It's just not Mortal Kombat without it.

It would be like making another Killer Instinct game without combos.
 
I'm one of the few that actually thinks this looks awesome. The MK franchise has grown old and stale over the past 15 years or so. This is much more exciting of a prospect than just a regular boring new MK fighter. However, chances are high that Midway will fuck this one up, though.

Well, it's probably DC's fault. I'm willing to bet they don't want Superman in a video game murdering people by melting them with his eyes.

And so how exactly is Johnny Cage supposed to fight superman?
