Bored lately, never really played my copy of Morrowind when i bought it, the game just didnt grab my attention.

Well, ive been bored on my pc as of late and decided i should give the game another chance.

Of course since there are so many mods out there that improve the games visuals, i'd like to make it look and play its best.

note: I own the Original Morrowind, so i don't have the expansion packs.

So what i wanna know is...
1: Mod for best character models?
2: Mod for High rez textures?
3: Face mods too, which mod is best?
4: Mod for most deatailed world and effects?
5: Any other suggested mods that enhance graphics?
6: Any mods to fix bugs.

Theres just WAY WAY too many mods out there to test them all, so any suggestions/links from experienced Morrowind players would be greatly appreciated.

I played it, gave it up, played it, and gave it up again. Sound familiar, hehe. Anyway it's been months since I've played so I can't remember links or filenames. But there are at least two essential addons you should install (IMO)......the signposts mod that will let you see the names of the destinations on the signposts (rather than point-over) and a hero's house mod which has a port chamber in the basement. Basically it allows you to travel pretty much all over the world without having to hoof it (or take a strider).

Advanced Search should turn up a few older Morrowind threads, that will also include site links.

I played it without the mods, but yes the character models won't win any beauty contests :)

If you use striders and the mage guild teleports you can get around fairly well. Portals will take away some of the fun of wandering around and levelling up. Grab some soul gems and go hunting to raise cash.

It's cool that unlike Bioware/Interplay games there are no invisible walls. See some deep water? Water Walk, swim, levitate. See a chasm? leap, fly, maybe even climb the wall.

I agree the ports can hinder leveling.....which is accomplished by using skills. If you don't engage in battles as you hoof it to your destination, some of your important skills stay stagnant. You don't level up by questing (quests will however level your guild rank).

I just picked up a used copy of morrowind myself.

I went through the mods listed on RPGplanet, and here are some I found interesting...

The Better Bodies Mod seems interesting, but I can't find any screenshots of what these supposedly better bodies look like.

The Complete Morrowind adds a lot of crafting abilities.

Landscape remix contains re-textured landscapes.

Jarrod's New Texture mod changes a lot of textures. Some images are included at the page that's linked.

You can pretty much write off getting 100 athletics (non training) without running to everywhere all the time.
