Ever since I added more RAM morrowind quits to desktop every once in a while. All the signs point to bad memory, however I got that memory from Crucial and they always sent me good ram. Any other ideas?

Actually, I just found out that this happens only when I try to put on chain cuirass. A bug? Anyone else seen anything like that?

ya ive also been experience those types of problems, but usually when something screwy happens in the game, for example i sell these regular arrows and they come up for a price of like 9000, but then when i sell them the game crashes.

I just got the game 2 days ago. I was shooting arrows at that first cave mage and it crashed to the desktop. It happened really quick, no memory dump, nothing. It's only happened once out of 6 hours of play time so it's not that bad.

I'm using Win2k, BTW.

The main forum says a patch is in the works.

A side question... If I install an add-on do I need to restart the game from the ship?

Some of the Morrowind reviews have marked the game down on score because of crashing during gameplay,I`m still waiting for my Morrowind so can`t comment yet on how good the stability is.

I have heard there is a certain chain armor that still has a bug-(can't remember the details, where it's found and such) The beta testers said to just skip the armor as it's not even that great-(not worth the trouble it may cause)

If it's the chain armor i'm thinking about just don't mess with it, problem solved. ;)

I have experienced crashing while putting on a chain mail armor also, specifically, the legion's chain mail.

I think you'll find lots of bugs like that one. Morrowind is very buggy. Just hope a patch fixes it sometime in the future.

I have had a few crashes like that, though I haven't noticed an regularity to them (i.e. putting on chain mail). But they are pretty few and far between considering the ammount of time I have spent with the game.

Overall, I am very satisfied with morrowind.

I have issues with my overclock and Morrowind. It is probably my sound card because I can disable hardware acceleration completely and the lockups stop, but any amount of acceleration and it locks. But all that stopped when I pulled my fsb back down to 133 (1.6A @ 2.133 now). The game also runs better at this speed than when I was running it at 2.5gig. Must be alot of instability (probably in the overclocked sound card - which will be a good reason to get an external one sometime in the future and get it off the PCI bus) that doesn't show up in Prime95 or 3dmark.

One other thing I have noticed is that it creates some massive extra (not virtual memory) file that takes forever to dump if you have been playing very long at one sitting. I hope that gets addressed.

Don't get me wrong, I really like this game. I am on my second character as my first somehow really offended the Ordinators and made going to Vivec simply depressing as I was leaving dead bodies all over the place. (Running away simply seemed unmanly........:))

Well I`ve finally got the game installed and played at least 6 hrs or so,it`s pretty stable not 100%,I`ve had crash twice to desktop in that time so will have to agree with the Morrowind game reviewers on stability, however it`s still a very good game and I`m enjoying playing it.I know there`s a patch out soon so we will have to see what bugs that fixes.

Yah, it does that to me every once in a while too. Bugs really aren't that bad all said though.
