I'm having a problem with Morrowind crashing. I'm running a 1.4 ghz athlon t-bird w/ a GeForce 2 mx. I've got the newest drivers for my motherboard (the 4in1's) and the newest Nvidia drivers. I've updated XP via windows update (I got the patch that says it stops some games from just exiting to windows) and I've patched the game itself to the newest version, but to no avail. When I start the game, it works fine while I'm going through the menus, but when I try to start a new game, it plays the intro movie, and then I'm on the inside of a ship at the beginning of the game. After about 5 seconds at the most the game crashes. Once I have gotten a bluescreen (perhaps I should set it so it doesn't automatically restart upon displaying a bluescreen and record the error, but I don't remember how to do that), but usually it just exits to the desktop without displaying any error message at all.
I had a similar problem when I installed this game on Windows 98, but I seem to remember being able to fix it by installing the newest 4in1 drivers for my motherboard. That has not worked in this case. Any suggestions/ideas?
Oh, and I'm running DX8.1.
