I agree...but you'll have to give it time. It's just a "beta" software that can connect to Shaman's network. It took me an hour to download a friggin song that's 1:37 :( The connection was bad and it kept dropping out :(

I downloaded KaZaA and nuked the spyware. It was good yesterday; I was getting downloads from 5.50-6.00kb/s (on dial-up :)
Today, KaZaA feels slow also, sometimes dropping to 0.10kb/s just like yesterday's Morpheus.....who knows?

Oh btw, don't forget to nuke the spyware if you decide to get KaZaA. The spyware made my explorer.exe unstable :(

shaman?

it uses the gnutella network which has lots of stuff....but 1 out of 20 people actually let you download, and its usually slow.

R.I.P. Morpheus, damn it was like the second coming of scour
unless musiccity comes up something better in a week, or else it will lose all its users.

From the front page of musiccity.com:

Over the next few weeks we want to hear from you about how to make your new Morpheus software the peer-to-peer product you want it to be. We will be showing you new Morpheus logos, introducing new communication features and asking you for feedback about the new software. Keep your eyes open as each day we post new information

This is just a temporary version and they say they want our input on how it should be. So, instead of moaning tell them what you don't like and maybe the next version will be better.

Is this the hidden explorer.exe file in the Windows installation directory that the joint operations of the forumites here and at Bearshare.net helped put a stop to a few months back?

Gnutella is the way to go guys. Under current law, its pretty much unstoppable.

The new version of Grokster (or latest version) should have a small application that will remove the bad spyware (ClickTilUWin) in the program installer. Newer versions of bearshare also has the mini-app that alleviates the problem.

Not exactly correct there. The addition of connecting to other peers eats up only a small amount of [broadband] bandwith. Gnutella isn't good for dialup, ISDN, Satelite, and One Way Cable. Gnutella is impervious to some threats that are spread through the Fasttrack network and others (I might not be correct on this statement), and is something that can be shut down any time soon. This slowness you are talking about must be on the other end as I find the Gnutella network somewhat speedy. Learn which hosts are speedy (such as edu IP's)

If the new version of Grokster doesn't take care of it in the installer, try Bearshare's installer. You can uninstall it if you choose afterwards.

Bearshare implements this feature. Bearshare seems to be a step or two above other clients.

I have :)

I sometimes get 12k when I backup my VBB database from my server. Heh. It all depends on the compression of the file and what kind of file it is

And the 12k was steady for like 10-15 min...only variations were like a .03. oh well.

I got a BSOD too. First one ever on this computer (about a year old). Uninstalled it. Oh well, DC and AG make me happy. :)

I noticed a lot of data being sent from my computer with the new Morpheus without sharing files. What's up with that?

this new morpheus is a waste of HD space, better off using limewire or another gnutella client that isn't as buggy.
