I'm 99.9999% sure that it's 100% BS. However, the I Am Never Wrong manager refuses to believe that, and is telling all the customers that "they've both been cancelled, and Call of Duty will be the holiday game of choice." Sure, like HL2 and D3 both got cancelled and it never got to Anandtech.

I'm assuming that she just misunderstood the shipper saying "Not this year" as "Not ever."

But in any case. Please help me dig up any and all manners of brutal, vicious, and utter ownage to prove my point to the contrary. 😛

I'm too lazy to get proof but the lady is full of sh!t. The two most anticipated games of the next 2 years will not be cancelled...ever.

For the record, this same woman has also never heard of Disgaea and claims that it's "only available in the US". Then how come my brother in the GTA has it?

Duke Nuken isn't cancelled, it's just never coming out 😉

Both games are "cancelled" for the holidays, so the manager is sort of right.

Obviously, any searches for cancellation turn up empty, since it's fake. She's also dumb enough to say that it was the "hackers" ... maybe for HL2 I'd buy that if the development team hadn't already said "It sucks, but we'll cope" - but Doom III cancelled over a year+ old E3 pre-alpha?

Seeing as she said Call of Duty will be the holiday game of choice, she more than likely meant to say their release dates for this year were canceled and pushed back. Both will make out out before E3 2004, probably HL2 in Feb, Doom III in April.

Nope. I said "No, they've just been pushed back to early 2004."

Her response:

"They've both been cancelled. They're never coming out. You can take that to the bank."

I'd love to walk in with a fistful of printouts and news clippings and say "Sup bitch. Your cheque bounced."

Maybe I'll get her to put her money where her mouth is first. Get me some free hardware out of it. And if I do, I'll raffle it off on the FS/T forums. 😀
