I last tried some "sausage" a few years ago.

Has it gotten any better?

We eat their products every now and again. Maybe its an acquired taste, but I think some of their food is ok, like their burgers & sausage. Avoid their "bacon" at all costs.

Generally, I like Boca brand better.

I don't understand why anyone would want to eat a vegetarian product that tries to tastes like meat.

I tried them once before and they're seriously nasty. If you aren't a veggie only person I see no reason to eat them. They're more expensive and taste worse than the real stuff.

I like the garden patty burger, it doesn't taste like meat, it tastes more like a salmon patty with water chestnuts.

I actually like their sausage patties more than I like real sausage patties. They are awesome on my version of the breakfast sandwich:

* Toasted whole grain bread
* Fried eggwhites in a small pan
* Sprinkle of cheddar on top
* Morningstar sausage patties on top of that

It's so godamn delicious that I feel the urge to make one right now just typing this.

I eat their stuff and quite like it. These days I tend to stick with the 'chick' products. The italian sausage things are good too, but I doubt you'll like them as they won't taste like what your expecting/wanting. The breakfast sausage patties are quite good though and imo the best imitation.

I like them a lot, but I agree with Bocca being better. As long as you divorce yourself from the concept that it's supposed to be meat, and take it on it's own merits, they're pretty good. I generally prefer veggie burgers to real burgers, but I don't like the cost. If they had price parity, I'd definitely eat more of the veggies than beef.

i enjoy te black bean burgers from morningstahhhh

Seconded. In fact, I like most of their burger and sausage products, even if I seldom buy them anymore.

I don't understand why anyone would want to eat a vegetarian product that tries to tastes like meat.

This was always my stance, but my late wife Jessie got me into Boca and Morningstar burgers, and they really aren't that bad at all.

Still, that general logic holds for me. If you want meat, eat it. If you veggie, go veggie. But, for the most part, trying to make something taste like something else is a bit of a fool's errand.

If you must go down that route, though, seitan, which is basically just wheat gluten, is the way to go, imho.

What makes it so is the chewiness, or meat-like "mouth feel" that it has. This gives your faux meat dish the best chance of being a successful substitute for the meat experience, arrrrrhhhhh! :awe:

I like most of their products. They're good, as long as you don't really expect them to taste like meat. My older sister was raised vegetarian before my mom gave up with me, so I didn't really know to be disappointed by the bacon.
