Morimoto vs. Batali

Just thought it was an interesting battle, so I thought I'd let people know... In about an hour, at 2 am (at least here, in EST) on food network in the Iron Chef America battle: Morimoto vs. Batali. I'm sure it's an old one, so nobody tell me who wins.

At least I have some what of an idea of what they are doing in ICA. I don't understand those japanese dishes.

What would be intersting is IC vs ICA.

well they used to have morimoto and sakai show up when ICA first started, but i remember they always got beat. i just don't think think the judges took a liking to the japanese dishes compared to american, latin or something more familiar.

I love the original Iron Chef, but I just can't get into Iron Chef America - even though I think Alton Brown is the coolest personality on Food Network.

Batali wins.

You are a bastard.

LOL! I was just kidding, I honestly have no idea 😱 .

Wasn't this on a couple of nights ago?? Or maybe they have done this more than once. If it's the same as the other night, the winner was.... No, can't do it. 😀

His personality is unmistakable, I don't know how you missed it 😛

I watched most of the first season or so, but haven't watched one in a while.

ICA SUCKS.. It's like they decided to take Iron Chef and make a cheap rip-off version in a sh!tty-ass studio that doesn't even look like a kitchen. The original was so awesome because Kitchen Stadium really was a stadium.. It had an audience, it had plenty of open space, etc.. The ICA kitchen looks like someone went to target and bought some sh!t and threw it together. The kitchen goes from IC where it looked like it had everything under the sun and plenty of room to ICA where it looks like they built some counters out of plywood and bought some cheap appliances.

Plus, the American version is trying to be too serious and forcing 'awkward moments' everywhere. Either accept the japanese-style bow after a match and make it normal.. or do an American handshake.. Instead, the chefs after the battle just look stupid like they don't know what to do.

It frustrates me that they went so low budget on making the show. IMO, a nicer kitchen would go a long way. But now, the show is just depressing because the kitchen sucks. I live in a college condo with a sh1tty-ass kitchen and would rather cook here than that crap they call a kitchen in ICA.

How dare you not recognize the greatness that is Alton Brown! 😀

well I watch it here and there, but I never realized it was him, I should have though his personality is unmistakable.

I love both shows. They're totally different, even though they have the same name and a similar setup. IC is hilarious by accident. ICA is hilarious on purpose.

Alton is so much better here than his own show. I used to really love him, but now there are too many stupid costume segments and meaningless mysteries and so on. I've turned his show off in the middle because it was so stupid - and stupid is the wrong word for Alton, I love his food-chemistry-obsessive-brilliance. What's the deal with that lady in the cooking-equipment store? It's dumb & wastes time.

Back to ICA: I'm in awe of the pureed lobster pasta. Wow.

OMG I can`t believe you are complaining about a state of the art kitchen!!
They have stuff the Original IC could only dream of in the kitchen!!
