Morgan Bridge Cutting..

i've been running my 1ghz duron @ 1.24 (just upped the fsb) for a while now (perfectly stable at stock vcore), but finally feel like messing with it some more.

i was thinking lowering the multiplier to 8 then upping the fsb to around 133-150 (depending on what my sdram'll take) would provide a bit of a performance boost.

so i was wondering what kind of morgan bridge cutting experiences you lot had had.. specifically: 1) would a very sharp stanley knife do? or would the PSU+pins method work alot better? 2) is it necessary to fill the pits before pencilling/painting any bridges?

i've heard horror stories of people working at the bridges with a knife for hours and barely making a scratch on the hard ceramic surface. :Q

thanks for any input..

Never use knives, even on softer organic body CPUs, depth control is nil and read where one person wound up with 12 stitches.

Safest manual tool is constructed from a finest pointed diamond coated rotary burr epoxied into a tube for careful use like a pencil or surgical instrument. Wear away material gradually, inspect often with optical magnification/eye loupe so you don't go too deep and damage other subsurface circuit (esp on organic). Diamonds make short work of even ceramic. Dentist gave us a used burr...be sure it is his finest pointed one as you don't want to wear away the entire bridge. Might also find at hardware/hobby shops, but maybe not as fine pointed as dentists use.
