More wierd glitches...

Ok well I am having really odd errors occur on this PC. I had a previous thread about wierd graphical errors on games. Now I am having two new problems.

1. When the PC put the monitor into standby sometimes it will refurse to turn the monitor back on when you move the mouse or hit a key. Yet its still running fine because I can remote desktop to it (using remote administrator) and do anything.

2. Sometimes unexpectdly the CPU utilization will stay at 18% as if I were running something. However under task manager > processes nothing show as using that 18%! Its too odd.


I am out of ideas on this PC.

for 1) I'd try different video drivers, see if that'd make a difference. BTW, what vid card do you have?

woops forgot to list specs:
P4 3.4 Ghz
PCI-E 6600GT
1GB Dual DDR2

Hmm I thought I had the latest nvidia drivers...I will check to make sure.

Do a spyware/adware/malware check with either Ad-aware or Spybot, google if you are unfamilar with their operation. That would be my shot in the dark about the CPU usage.

I would also make sure ALL your drivers are up to date, not just your videocard.
