how do you install say four cdroms while still having a hard drive installed?

You purchase a PCI IDE controller card; gives you two more IDE channels, which means another FOUR IDE devices. Newegg sells'em for about twenty smackers.

could you also run all four on both your ide's,cd and harddrive,and run your harddrive on sata?

Yes. The SATA controller is a completely different piece of equipment (chip, actually) on the motherboard. SATA has nothing to do with IDE. Two completely separate busses.
